Every sale benefits our local charity partners,
 including Hope Rescue Mission

Hope Rescue Mission

JBF Reading consignor donations support the work of
Hope Rescue Mission in Berks County, PA, helping provide care, stability, and restoration for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Hope Rescue Mission operates multiple programs on its campus, including the Men’s Center, which serves adult men experiencing homelessness, and the LightHouse Women & Children’s Center, which provides shelter and support for women and families.

Donated children’s items from our sales help meet everyday needs across Hope Rescue Mission’s programs, particularly for women and children staying at LightHouse, while also supporting the Mission’s broader work to help individuals transition toward long-term stability. Hope Rescue Mission has served the Berks County community since 1894, offering shelter, meals, clothing, and supportive programs. Each night, the Mission provides care for up to 85 guests, with additional capacity available during Code Blue weather events.

The LightHouse Women & Children’s Center
On July 7, 2023, Hope Rescue Mission celebrated the opening of the LightHouse Women & Children’s Center, a space created to serve homeless women and children with dignity and care. LightHouse includes 43 residential rooms, each with a private restroom, and fills a critical gap in services by allowing mothers and school-age children to stay together during their time at the shelter. Thanks to the generosity of our consignors and community, LightHouse is now open and a playground is currently being built for the children who stay there.

THANK YOU!

Have you thought about donating?

We highly recommend donating your items each sale—why? We have found that those who choose to reduce items for the half-price sale and also donate unsold items tend to price to sell. That means more items are likely to sell due to the great value shoppers receive during the half-price sale. And if items do not sell, they are donated to our Charity Partner. So no matter what, everyone wins!
